Job summary

St Cloud Area Family YMCA is seeking a Director of Finance to lead financial operations, IT and business functions. You will drive budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and internal controls while advising the Executive Director and Board.

The role requires strategic partnering with leadership, strong nonprofit finance experience, and staff development to safeguard resources and advance the YMCA’s mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
• Five+ years of progressively responsible experience in accounting or financial management.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• Strategic financial partner to executive leadership with actionable insights.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop staff.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting systems; Paylocity and/or Daxko experience preferred.
• Nonprofit financial management principles, including fund accounting and grant reporting.
• Ability to collaborate with external advisors, auditors, and banking partners.
• Commitment to ethical leadership, transparency, confidentiality, and stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning & Financial Leadership to translate goals into actionable plans.
• Oversee all accounting operations, ensure accurate records and regulatory compliance.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing budget analysis.
• Oversee financial statements, audits, IRS Form 990, and filings.
• Perform financial analysis, forecasting, cash flow management, and capital planning.
• Develop and monitor internal controls and risk management practices.
• Manage treasury, banking relations, and investment activities; advise committees.
• Oversee payroll, benefits, IT, and related vendor relationships.
• Provide leadership for IT assets and service delivery to support operations.
• Recruit, hire, train, and develop finance and administrative staff.
• Collaborate with leadership, staff, and board on financial strategy and partnerships.
