Salary: $100,000-$120,000 annually
A nonprofit organization is seeking a Director of Development to lead fundraising efforts and build relationships with donors, corporate partners, and community stakeholders. This position will develop and execute a fundraising strategy that supports the organization's mission, programs, and long-term financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an annual fundraising plan encompassing individual giving, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, and fundraising events.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospective and existing donors.
- Partner with executive leadership and the Board of Directors to establish fundraising priorities and support donor engagement.
- Manage grant research, proposal development, submission deadlines, and reporting requirements.
- Oversee annual appeals, donor communications, and fundraising campaigns.
- Coordinate fundraising events and sponsorship opportunities.
- Maintain accurate donor records and oversee gift acknowledgment and donor recognition.
- Develop and monitor the development budget, track fundraising results, and report progress toward revenue goals.
- Collaborate with program staff to communicate organizational impact through compelling proposals and donor materials.
- Establish consistent development processes and follow ethical fundraising and donor confidentiality practices.
Qualifications
- Progressive experience in nonprofit development or fundraising, including responsibility for fundraising strategy and donor relationships.
- Demonstrated experience securing gifts, grants, or sponsorships and meeting fundraising goals.
- Experience managing major gift cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Strong writing and presentation skills, including experience preparing grant proposals and donor communications.
- Ability to collaborate with executive leadership, board members, staff, and external partners.
- Experience using donor databases or fundraising CRM systems to manage donor activity and reporting.
- Ability to manage budgets, deadlines, and multiple fundraising initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
