Job summary

Qualifications

  • Experience managing fundraising databases with data governance, reporting, data integrity, and process improvement.
  • Hands-on experience with Raiser's Edge, Virtuous, Salesforce/NPSP, or similar CRM.
  • Knowledge of Power BI or Tableau for reporting is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills with ability to identify trends and derive insights.
  • Strong communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage philanthropic compliance for restricted, endowed, quasi-endowed, and current-use funds.
  • Serve as the primary operational owner of the fundraising CRM, overseeing data standards, user support, and workflows.
  • Oversee gift administration and database operations with Finance for reconciliations and reporting.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, segmentation, and analyses to support fundraising performance.
  • Maintain data governance and SOPs for CRM use and cross-functional requests.
  • Partner with fundraising, marketing, IT, Finance, and external vendors to translate needs into CRM workflows.

Job description

Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Nonprofit CRM Manager for a leading healthcare treatment organization dedicated to advancing exceptional patient care, research, and education. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity in Houston, TX, initially offered as a contract-to-hire position with the opportunity to convert after approximately 13 weeks.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Nonprofit CRM Manager will oversee philanthropic compliance, CRM administration, gift administration, reporting, and data services while serving as a hands-on systems and data leader within the philanthropy team. This role will maintain the integrity and effectiveness of fundraising data, develop reporting and analytics, and improve CRM workflows that support fundraising, stewardship, donor engagement, and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate brings strong CRM fluency, thoughtful operational judgment, and the ability to translate complex data and process needs into practical, scalable solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage philanthropic compliance for restricted, endowed, quasi-endowed, and current-use funds, ensuring alignment with donor intent, gift agreements, institutional policies, and applicable requirements.
  • Serve as the primary operational owner of the fundraising CRM, overseeing data standards, user support, reporting, list management, workflows, system improvements, and issue resolution.
  • Oversee gift administration and database operations, partnering with Finance on fund establishment, gift and fund reconciliation, donor records, and accurate reporting.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, segmentation, targeted lists, and analyses that support fundraising performance, donor stewardship, campaign strategy, and leadership decision-making.
  • Maintain strong data governance and integrity while developing SOPs and improving processes related to CRM use, gift entry, reporting, reconciliation, and cross-functional requests.
  • Partner with fundraisers, marketing, annual giving, stewardship, Finance, IT, Legal, and external vendors to translate business needs into effective CRM workflows, data solutions, and operational improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrated experience managing fundraising, advancement, or constituent relationship management databases, with strong knowledge of data governance, reporting, data integrity, and process improvement.
  • Hands‑on experience with Raiser's Edge, Virtuous, Salesforce/NPSP, or a similar CRM platform; experience with reporting and business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of philanthropic data and gift administration, including fund management, gift reconciliation, donor records, and compliance considerations.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills with the ability to identify trends, assess data quality, develop actionable insights, and make sound operational recommendations.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, leadership judgment, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize competing requests, support users, maintain confidentiality, and work effectively across teams.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
  • The contract rate for this position is $33–$36 per hour.
  • This is a contract‑to‑hire opportunity with the anticipated opportunity to convert to a permanent position after approximately 520 hours worked (approximately 13 weeks).
  • Permanent compensation and benefits will be discussed as part of the conversion process.
