Job summary

Scion Staffing is seeking a Development Manager for a mission-driven nonprofit in Marquette, Michigan. This onsite, full-time role leads the fundraising program, expanding donor relationships and partnerships to solidify long-term community impact.

You will develop innovative fundraising strategies, collaborate with leadership and the Board, and manage donor communications and CRM-driven reporting to drive growth and sustainability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Three or more years of nonprofit fundraising experience.
  • Demonstrated success cultivating donor relationships, securing philanthropic support, and managing fundraising initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the organization's fundraising program by developing and executing strategies that grow individual giving, major gifts, grants, corporate sponsorships, planned giving, and foundation support.
  • Build authentic relationships with donors, community leaders, businesses, and philanthropic partners while identifying opportunities to expand financial support.
  • Partner with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to establish fundraising priorities and achieve annual development goals.
  • Develop donor cultivation and stewardship plans that encourage long-term engagement and increase donor retention.
  • Manage fundraising campaigns and donor recognition initiatives while creating meaningful opportunities for supporters to connect with the organization's mission.
  • Assist in planning future capital and special fundraising initiatives designed to support organizational growth.
  • Research grant opportunities and prepare compelling proposals, reports, and supporting materials for foundations and funding partners.
  • Create impactful donor communications, sponsorship materials, appeals, newsletters, and stewardship pieces that highlight organizational success and community impact.
  • Oversee donor data management, fundraising reporting, gift tracking, and campaign performance using CRM systems.
  • Represent the organization at community events, networking opportunities, and donor meetings to strengthen visibility and build strategic partnerships.

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Development Manager for a dynamic, mission-driven nonprofit organization committed to empowering individuals and families through advocacy, education, and comprehensive support services. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity based in Marquette, Michigan.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Development Manager will play a key leadership role in shaping and growing the organization's philanthropic efforts. This individual will be responsible for developing innovative fundraising strategies, cultivating meaningful donor relationships, expanding institutional and corporate partnerships, and increasing philanthropic investment to advance the organization's mission. This highly collaborative position partners closely with executive leadership, the Board of Directors, volunteers, and community partners to strengthen fundraising initiatives, inspire donor engagement, and build a sustainable culture of giving. The ideal candidate is a relationship-focused professional who enjoys connecting people with a mission they believe in and has a passion for creating long-term community impact.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
