Your Part-Time Controller, LLC (YPTC) is seeking a dedicated Controller for nonprofit organizations to guide client accounting functions in the Chicago area. The role supports multiple nonprofit clients, performing financial reporting, audits, grant management, and internal controls with a focus on mission impact.

The position offers a hybrid work environment, a standard 35-hour full-time week, competitive compensation ($100,000–$125,000 annually) and a comprehensive benefits package including

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 5-7+ years of accounting experience within nonprofits or related field.
• Experience with remote work preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel and multiple GL systems, especially QuickBooks.
• CPA is a plus; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Transform nonprofit client financial departments to meet mission.
• Prepare financial reporting for management and Board decisions.
• Improve accounting processes, internal controls, and compliance.
• Handle AP/AR, payroll, month-end close, and reconciliations.
• Grant management, budgeting, and funder reporting.
• Coordinate annual audits and client staff training.
