Job summary

Your Part-Time Controller LLC (YPTC) is hiring a dedicated Controller for nonprofit organizations in Chicago. The role involves outsourced Controller duties across multiple nonprofit clients, with a hybrid work arrangement and a standard 35-hour work week.

Successful candidates will bring 5–7+ years of accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to manage multiple clients and staff interactions remotely and on-site. CPA is a plus, with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Non-profit accounting experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5–7+ years of accounting experience.
• Experience in remote environment preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and respond timely.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with multiple GL packages, especially QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

• Serve as outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple nonprofit clients.
• Provide financial reporting for management and board decisions.
• Improve accounting, operations, internal controls, and compliance.
• Handle AP/AR, payroll, month-end close, reconciliations.
• Grant management, funder reporting.
• Prepare for and manage annual audit.
• Client and staff training opportunities.
