Job summary

The Campaign Against Hunger seeks a Chief Financial Officer to join its executive team. You will provide strategic financial leadership, manage budgeting and forecasting, and oversee accounting, audits, and compliance.

You will partner with program leadership on grants and contracts, while reporting to the CEO and collaborating with the Board. Requires 10+ years of nonprofit financial leadership, CPA/MBA preferred, and strong skills in internal controls, risk management, and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field is required; advanced degree preferred.
• CPA, MBA, or comparable professional qualification strongly preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible financial management experience, including at least five years in senior financial leadership.
• Significant nonprofit financial management experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with government contracts, restricted grants, audits, and compliance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership and act as principal advisor to the CEO on major organizational decisions.
• Develop annual and multi-year budgets, forecasts, cash-flow projections, models, and scenario analyses.
• Oversee accounting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, cash management, and financial systems.
• Ensure timely financial reporting and monitor performance against budgets across programs.
• Lead grants administration, contract compliance, and funder reporting.
• Coordinate audits and strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Prepare financial results and present to the CEO and Board with risks and recommendations.
