Job summary

CMB Staffing Solutions LLC is seeking a senior Audit Partner to lead a portfolio of nonprofit clients in the Chicago area. This role focuses on strategy, high-level client relationships, and ensuring quality audits under GAAP, GAAS, and Uniform Guidance.

You will drive business development, mentor staff, review audit reports, and oversee engagement leadership from planning through completion, while maintaining compliance and providing strategic insights to clients and the firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Active CPA license required.
• 10+ years of progressive, specialized experience in public accounting, specifically within the non-profit sector.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale audit engagements and leading teams.
• Deep understanding of non-profit accounting standards, including GAAP and IRS regulations.

Responsibilities

• Market-facing leadership and business development with nonprofit executives, audit committees, and boards.
• Oversee all aspects of nonprofit audits from planning to completion, ensuring GAAP/GAAS and Uniform Guidance compliance.
• Review and approve audit reports, financial statements, and management letters.
• Identify improvements in clients’ internal controls and processes.
• Mentor and develop audit seniors and managers to foster growth and succession.
