Job summary

The Charity CFO, LLC is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead a 7‑8 person accounting team delivering accurate financial reports for nonprofit clients. You will report to the CFO and ensure timely client deliverables while upholding GAAP and internal controls.

This hybrid role in St. Louis combines hands‑on oversight with process improvements, mentorship, and collaboration with the Quality Assurance Team to drive operational excellence and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Accounting or accounting-related field required or preferred.
• 3–5 years of full-cycle accounting or public accounting experience (auditor or outsourced accountant).
• 1–2 years nonprofit accounting experience preferred.
• CPA license preferred.
• Proficiency with Excel and accounting software; advanced accounting knowledge and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 7–8 person team (4–5 Accounting Associates and Senior Accounting Associates, 1 Accounting Assistant, up to 1 Intern).
• Ensure monthly client deliverables are accurate and on time; GAAP compliance; work with QA team to meet audits and deadlines.
• Oversee onboarding of new employees and training; manage PTO planning and resource allocation.
• Tackle client projects such as workpapers, chart of accounts revisions, and cash-to-accrual conversions.
