UMOS, Inc. in Milwaukee seeks an Accounting Manager to lead financial reporting, grant accounting, and compliance across multiple programs. The role oversees the general ledger, near-term close, and cash flow while coordinating with auditors.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in accounting or related field, 4+ years of accounting experience (non-profit preferred), and 2+ years of leadership. Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
• Four+ years general accounting experience, preferably in grant or non-profit.
• Two+ years leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Knowledge of GAAP and grant accounting preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel; proficient in Word, Outlook, Teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good planning and organizational skills; ability to manage workload.

Responsabilités

• Monitor actual financial results against budget and report variances.
• Oversee general ledger functions and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage cash flow, banking relations, leases, and receivables/payments.
• Coordinate month-end close, revenue recognition, and payroll accruals.
• Prepare tax reporting for property tax and related returns.
• Facilitate external audits and program monitoring.
• Supervise financial liaison team and provide coaching.
• Ensure compliance with funder requirements and internal controls.
