Job summary

Pace Center for Girls is seeking an Accounting Manager in Jacksonville, FL for remote work with residency in Florida or Georgia. The role oversees day-to-day accounting and ensures GAAP compliance within a $50M budget, reporting to the Controller.

Responsibilities include leading the accounting team, strengthening internal controls, and providing timely financial information to support decision-making. Standard hours are M-F 8:00am-5:00pm, with the nonprofit environment emphasized.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
• Five to seven years of progressive accounting experience, including two to three years in supervision.
• Experience with financial reporting, general ledger management, month-end close, audits, and internal controls.
• Experience with nonprofit accounting, grants management, restricted funds, and nonprofit financial reporting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting.
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems such as Multiview, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or similar.
• Strong financial analysis, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, fixed assets, payroll accounting, and treasury activities.
• Lead monthly and year-end close processes and prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Monitor financial results, budgets, variances, and provide analysis to organizational leaders.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for executive leadership and Board committees.
• Oversee banking activities, cash management, electronic payments, and disbursements with strong internal controls.
• Lead the accounting team and develop staff through coaching and performance management.
• Improve processes and technology, including system upgrades and workflow improvements.
• Partner with program leaders to support grant compliance and donor reporting.
