Job summary

Talentify is seeking an Accounting Manager to provide accounting leadership under the Controller and step in as needed. You will oversee grant compliance, AP/AR, payroll, internal controls, and assist with month- and year-end close and audit schedules.

Key responsibilities include grant reporting, budgeting with program managers, ensuring GAAP compliance, and supporting the external audit. This role emphasizes accuracy, collaboration, and initiative in a nonprofit/grant-funded setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or pursuing one.
• Minimum three years of general accounting experience.
• Knowledge of US GAAP, especially revenue recognition, with nonprofit accounting.
• Strong organization and prioritization skills.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online, Microsoft 365, Bill.com and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform grant and contract billings and reporting.
• Track and reconcile grant receipts and payments.
• Ensure grant compliance with funding requirements.
• Help develop budgets for grant proposals.
• Prepare financial reports to grantors.
• Monitor grant budgets and address variances.
• Manage payroll allocations in grant budgets.
• Ensure grant expenditures and revenue recognition align with agreements.
• Provide monthly financial statements and analyses.
• Assist with training and other duties as needed.
