Job summary

Your Part-Time Controller, LLC in Chicago, IL, is seeking an Accountant for Nonprofit Organizations to join our team. The role offers a standard full-time 35-hour work week with a hybrid schedule, interacting with client staff, boards, and finance committees, and advancing transformative accounting services for nonprofit clients.

Starting salary ranges from $70,000 to $85,000, with potential bonuses and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience in public accounting and/or industry; 5+ years preferred.
• Outstanding communication skills and positive attitude.
• Knowledge of, or interest in learning, multiple accounting software packages; QuickBooks experience is a plus.
• Intermediate-level Excel skills.
• Willingness to travel to client offices as needed when it is safe to do so.
• Nonprofit experience preferred, but not required.
• Part-time employees expected to work during normal business hours to best serve our clients.

Responsibilities

• Weekly and monthly processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
• Bank account and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Monthly financials and related analysis.
• Grant tracking and monitoring.
• Cash flow projections and monitoring.
• Preparation for outside audits.
