Job summary

Belmar Pharmacy in Wichita, Kansas is seeking a Non-Sterile Compounding Technician to join our dedicated team. You will assist pharmacists in preparing customized, non-sterile formulations, maintaining accuracy and safety standards throughout the compounding process.

Responsibilities include documenting formulas, adhering to USP 795/800, using pharmacy software, and keeping a clean, compliant work environment. A High School Diploma and familiarity with SOPs are required; PTCB is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• PTCB certification preferred if not a state requirement.
• Compounding and/or laboratory experience preferred.
• Must be able to read, understand SOPs and all guidelines as they relate to the process.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of applicable pharmacy rules and regulations.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Strong working knowledge of USP 795 and USP 800.
• Strong working knowledge of pharmacy software.
• Prioritize and prepare formulas and compounding records.
• Compound medications accurately and efficiently.
• File necessary paperwork.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Assist with ongoing and month end inventory.
• Assist initial and continuous training of staff.
• Pull outdated medications for destruction.
• Restock supplies and keep the pharmacy neat and orderly.
• Maintain confidentiality and compliance with company policies.

As aNonSterileCompounding Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in our pharmacy team, specializing in the preparation of customized medication formulations. Your responsibilities will include accurately measuring, mixing, and packaging non-sterile compounds according to specific prescriptions and quality standards. You will work closely with pharmacists to ensure the highest level of patient care, maintain clean and organized workspaces, and adhere to safety protocols. Proficiency in using compounding equipment, a strong attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and compliance with regulatory requirements are essential for this role.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work in a variety of positions locations such as sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling, reach, and walking, for prolonged periods of time
• Potential exposure to chemicals used in the preparation of compounds (some chemicals are classified as toxic and special safety precautions must be taken when working with these chemicals)
• Must be able to use necessary equipment and software such as computers, scanners, or other technology devices as assigned
• Must be able to wear required compounding safety equipment for long periods of time when required

Qualifications

• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute.
