Beyond the Bell - A 501(c)(3) Non-Profit

We are seeking a motivated and responsible student to join our team as a Student Assistant. This position offers an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in a professional environment while balancing their academic commitments. May also assist with Life Skills courses to prevent youth and young adults from beginning to use alcohol, marijuana, tobacco, and other drugs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative Support: Assist with general office tasks, including filing, data entry, and photocopying. Manage incoming calls and emails, redirecting them as necessary. Work closely with the agency's evaluator to ensure collected data is reported accurately. Learn the SPF model (Strategic Prevention Framework) to effectively assist in planning and using data to plan and execute evidence-based strategies. Review and become familiar with the agency's Strategic Plan, Sustainability Plan, and Evaluation Plan.
  • Event Coordination: Provide support in planning and organizing departmental events or meetings. Assist in planning events and services related to substance abuse prevention for youth and senior citizens based on community needs and data analysis in a culturally competent manner.
  • Social Media Skills: Provide support in social media campaigns across multiple platforms. Come up with creative social media campaigns to promote the non-profit. Review social media analytics to make informed decisions.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at Mercer University.
  • Federal Work-Study eligible.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
