Job summary

Crested Butte Mountain Resort is seeking enthusiastic Winter Seasonal Snow Sports Instructors to teach group and private ski lessons to guests of all ages in a dynamic mountain resort environment.

Instructors will deliver high-quality ski instruction, ensure safety, and contribute to an exceptional guest experience while fostering a fun learning atmosphere on the slopes. Starting wage is $20.00/hour, with opportunities for additional incentives and housing is available.

Qualifications

• Must be comfortable and competent skiing on groomed blue terrain.
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
• Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Minimum age: 16 years old.
• Housing availability: Yes.

Responsibilities

• Teach group and private lessons.
• Work with guests of all ages, with a focus on children.
• Deliver world-class guest service.
• Create a safe and fun learning environment.
• Support the snow sports school operations (scanning, running surface lifts, assisting with lunch, fitting equipment).
• Provide guest feedback to inspire lifelong skiers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Must be comfortable and competent skiing on groomed blue terrain
• Must be willing to work with guests of all ages and have a strong level of comfort with children aged 3 and older
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English
• Strong communication skills
• Must be willing to work weekends/holidays
• Must be comfortable being in ski boots for an extended period of time
• Placement as an instructor is contingent upon successfully completing training and meeting the minimum skill, guest service, and safety standards

Role

As a Non‑Certified Ski Instructor, you have the ability to be a flexible employee who works across multiple departments and in various roles to support the one‑resort mentality which could include:

• Lift Experience
• Mountain Activities
• Food and Beverage Support
• Base Area Operations
• Retail Rental Operations

Additional requirements for hires under age 18

Submission of a Parental Consent Form upon hire, along with other applicable documents required by state law; such as a work permit, physician's note, and/or proof of birthdate.
