Job summary

Vail Resorts in Colorado is hiring winter seasonal Snowsports Instructors. Starting wage is $20.00/hr with potential to earn more through incentives. Roles include teaching group and private lessons to guests of all ages, with a focus on delivering world-class service in a safe, fun environment.

This is a winter seasonal position with full-time and part-time hours; scheduling may vary and weekends/holidays are required. Training and growth opportunities are offered as part of Epic Service.

Qualifications

• Must be comfortable skiing on groomed blue terrain.

Job Specifications:

Starting Wage:$20.00/hr

Pay range reflects minimum base wages; instructors may have opportunities to earn more with additional teaching incentives

Shift Type:Full Time and Part Timehours available.For Full-Time Instructors, a 40-hour workweek is not guaranteed. Scheduled hours will vary depending on business volume.

Job Responsibilities:

• Teach group and private lessons
• Work with guests of all ages, with a focus on children
• Deliver world-class guest service
• Create a safe and fun learning environment
• Support all needs of the snow sports school: inclusive of scanning, running surface lifts, facilitating lunch, fitting equipment
• Provide guest feedback that inspires and creates lifelong skiers
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Must be comfortable and competent skiing on groomed blue terrain
• Must be willing to work with guests of all ages and have a strong level of comfort with children aged 3 and older
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English
• Must be willing to work weekends/holidays and meet minimum scheduling requirements.
• Must be comfortable being in ski boots for extended period of time
• Placement as an instructor is contingent upon successfully completing training and meeting the minimum skill, guest service, and safety standards.

As a Non-Certified Ski Instructor, youhave the ability tobe a flexible employee who works across multiple departments and in various roles to support the one-resort mentality which could include:

• Lift Experience
• Mountain Activities
• Food and Beverage Support
• Base Area Operations
• Retail Rental Operations

Additional requirements for hires under age 18: Submission of a Parental Consent Form upon hire, along with other applicable documents required by state law; such as a work permit, physician's note, and/or proof of birthdate

The expected pay range is$20.00/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
