US FOODS delivers to customers with a focus on service. The Non CDL Driver I role in Twinsburg involves delivering foodservice products and maintaining safety and accuracy in every stop. Starting pay is $24.40 per hour with a $5,000 retention bonus for eligible new hires.

Qualifications

  • DOT Medical Card Required
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • No commercial or professional driving experience required
  • One year of multi-stop delivery experience preferred or six months local delivery experience and/or foodservice industry experience
  • Valid U.S. driver\'s license with endorsements if required
  • No more than two traffic violations in past two years; no DUI in past three years; no suspensions in past three years
  • Hand cart delivery experience preferred
  • Able to read, write and communicate in English for job and safety regulations
  • Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
  • Use safe lifting and loading techniques
  • Great interpersonal/customer service skills
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays and overtime to service customers

Responsibilities

  • Lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally
  • Load/unload the vehicle for multi-stop deliveries
  • Transport deliveries by driving assigned vehicles
  • Move products from vehicle to customer location using hand truck
  • Record delivery information with hand scanner and documents
  • Document and disposition returned products
  • Communicate delivery issues to appropriate authority
  • Deliver to designated stops following the daily stop sequence
  • Unload safely and stage products as directed by customer
  • Check invoices for complete delivery; process paperwork and damaged merchandise
  • Monitor refrigeration system for safety and follow food handling procedures
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Other duties as assigned

Schedule: 5-8am dispatch time Tuesday - Saturday

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis and up to 100 lbs. on an occasional basis.
  • Load and unload the vehicle for multi-stop deliveries.
  • Transport deliveries by driving assigned vehicles.
  • Use hand truck to move product from the delivery vehicle into the customer location including going up and down stairs with product as necessary.
  • Accurately record delivery information including operating a hand scanner and all company required documentation.
  • Responsible for the proper documentation and disposition for any return product.
  • Communicate delivery- customer issues to proper authority (i.e., Customer Service, Territory Manager, Transportation Supervisor, etc.).
  • Deliver product to each of the designated stops following the stop sequence provided for the day.
  • Unload product safely and stage product in the space(s) designated by customer.
  • Check invoice for complete delivery. Process paperwork and damaged merchandise if any.
  • Collect payments if necessary.Monitor refrigeration system on the delivery vehicle on a consistent basis for safety; follow all safe food handling procedures.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections such as monitoring fluid levels, tires, windshield wash and replenishing fuel.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • DOT Medical Card Required
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • No commercial or professional driving experience required.
  • One year of multi-stop delivery experience is preferred or six months local delivery experience and/or foodservice industry experience.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license issued by the state of legal residence with proper endorsements if required.
  • No more than two convictions in the past two-year period for traffic violations, no DUI convictions in the past three years, no driver's license suspensions in the past three years.
  • Hand cart delivery experience preferred.
  • Able to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety regulations.
  • Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • Use safe lifting and loading techniques
  • Great interpersonal/customer service skills.
  • Availability to work on weekends, Holidays and overtime in order to service customers
Physical Requirements:
  • This work requires the following physical activities:
  • Climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs. of material on a consistent basis, 100 lbs. on an occasional basis and repetitive motions.
  • The work is performed primarily outdoors.
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical.
  • Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities for described length of time.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $24.40/hr. and $25.40/hr.

As applicable, this role will also receive overtime compensation, incentive compensation based on productivity and quality.

The Non CDL Driver I is a delivery position responsible for driving a company vehicle limited to a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 14,900. The position will be assigned stops to deliver foodservice products with a high level of service to customers. Commercial or professional driving experience preferred, but not required. Must meet the medical requirements of the Department of Transportation (DOT). All functions must be completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
