Mead Lumber in Ankeny, IA is seeking a delivery driver to haul merchandise to customer jobsites and unload materials to ensure customer satisfaction. You will also assist with loading and unloading trucks, organizing the yard, and helping customers in the yard with a focus on safety and accuracy.

The role requires a valid driver's license, forklift capability, ability to lift up to 75 pounds, and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Requires valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Forklift operation experience preferred.
• Able to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
• Able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds consistently.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsabilités

• Deliver merchandise to customer jobsites and unload materials.
• Pull and stage materials for delivery or pickup per tickets and invoices.
• Load, deliver, and unload materials safely and timely.
• Perform vehicle inspections for safe operation.
• Operate forklifts safely following safety procedures.
• Document merchandise returns using credit memos.
• Organize and store products in designated locations.
• Assist customers in the yard and provide excellent service.
• Follow safety procedures and promote a safe workplace.
• Collaborate with team to support daily yard operations.

Job Summary:

Primary responsibility is to drive company vehicles to deliver merchandise to customer jobsites and physically unload the materials to the customer's satisfaction. Help load and unload trucks, put merchandise away, clean up yard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Learn company products, procedures, culture, and customer service philosophy.
• Accurately pull and stage materials for delivery or customer pickup (will call) according to picking tickets and sales invoices.
• Load, deliver, and unload materials safely, accurately, and in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Perform vehicle inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.
• Operate forklifts safely and properly in accordance with company procedures and safety protocols.
• Accurately document merchandise returns using credit memos.
• Organize and put away products in designated bin locations.
• Build lumber packs accurately and efficiently.
• Assist customers in the yard and address their needs while providing excellent customer service.
• Follow all company safety procedures and promote a safe working environment.
• Work collaboratively with team members to support daily yard operations.

Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license with a good driving record; CDL is a plus.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift.
• Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds consistently.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling materials and orders.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and productive with a willingness to learn and grow professionally.
