Job summary

Transdev in Columbus, Ohio is seeking an experienced Non-CDL Bus Driver to operate contract routes for COTA. You will ensure safe, reliable service, assist passengers, and conduct pre/post-trip inspections while following company and regulatory standards.

This role requires weekend availability and a valid Ohio license. The position offers competitive starting pay, probationary benefits after 90 days, and opportunities for advancement within a large mobility group.

Qualifications

• 21 years or older with a high school diploma or GED.
• A valid Ohio driver's license in good standing with at least 3 years of motor vehicle history.
• Excellent communication & customer service skills with the ability to speak and understand English.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical examination; including a background and drug screen; 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
• Availability to work full-time schedules including day, evenings, weekends, and holidays (MUST be able to work every weekend on Saturday and Sunday).
• Punctual with an emphasis on attendance.

• Passenger Care: Exhibit exceptional care and assistance towards passengers, ensuring smooth boarding, comfortable rides, and timely disembarkation for all.
• Vehicle Vigilance: Champion vehicle safety through comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip inspections, promptly reporting any maintenance issues, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety equipment readiness.
• Adherence to Protocols: Uphold company policies and procedures rigorously, encompassing seat belt enforcement, emergency response preparedness, and compliance with regulatory mandates.
• Other duties as required

As a key member, you will be entrusted with ensuring safe and comfortable transportation for our passengers, while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

• The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting and should have the ability to walk, bend, lift, and push/pull up to 75 pounds

• Work environment will be mostly outdoors and will deal with inclement weather including rain, snow, sleet, ice and other types of weather concerns
