Job summary

Apple's Noise & Vibration team is seeking an N&V Testing Engineer to join the acoustics efforts to reduce noise, validate test results, and support hardware design. You will work with cross-functional teams on testing setups and data collection.

The role requires a PhD in Mechanical or Acoustic Engineering, extensive hands-on testing experience, and proficiency with Matlab for analysis. You will help improve modeling methodologies and contribute to products shipped globally.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in noise and vibration.
• Hands-on experience in structural vibration testing design and execution.
• Ability to interpret complex testing results.
• Experience in root cause identification for noise and vibration.
• Experience with Matlab or similar analysis tools.
• Experience in experimental modal analysis, transfer path analysis, and substructure synthesis.
• PhD in Mechanical or Acoustic Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Test and analyze acoustic noise generating mechanisms and transmission paths.
• Design test setups and collect critical data for analyses.
• Collaborate with simulation engineers to relate modeling to test results.
• Provide insights and improvements to modeling methodologies.
