Job summary

Metronet is hiring an NOC Technician I – Application Assurance in Hopkins, MN. This on-site role performs 24x7 IT and DC infrastructure monitoring across data centers, servers, and applications.

You’ll work with ITOM tools, log analyses, and ticketing systems to minimize downtime and escalate issues when needed. The position requires 1–3 years in IT/network environments, a technical degree, and strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and/or equivalent training.
• 1–3 years of IT, network, and/or data center experience.
• Understanding of IT infrastructure including servers, storage, virtualization, operating systems, and applications.
• Experience with ITOM, network monitoring, and observability tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, SolarWinds, Nagios, or similar platforms.
• Experience using ticketing systems for incidents, problems, and requests.

Responsibilities

• Operate in a 24x7x365 Operations Center with shift work including 2nd/3rd shifts and weekends.
• Monitor ITOM and Network Management systems for alarms and performance metrics; respond to outages and degradations.
• Document and track alarm events with accuracy and urgency; manage trouble tickets and update resolutions.
• Identify alerts, troubleshoot issues, and take corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Communicate outages and events and provide timely updates to internal teams and executives.
• Collaborate with multiple departments and vendors to coordinate outages and maintenance.
