Job summary

Metronet in Minnesota invites you to join our 24x7 NOC team as an NOC Technician I focused on Application Assurance. You’ll monitor data centers, servers, and applications, responding to alarms and incidents with a blend of technical and collaborative skills.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in IT or data centers, a technical degree, and experience with ITOM tools like Grafana, Dynatrace, SolarWinds or Nagios.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent training.
• 1–3 years of IT, network, and/or data center experience.
• Experience with ITOM, network monitoring, and observability tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate in a 24x7x365 Operations Center; this includes shift work, 2nd and 3rd shift hours, and weekends.
• Monitor ITOM and Network Management systems for alarms and performance metrics; respond to outages and degradations.
• Log and track all alarm events with accuracy and urgency.
• Log and manage trouble tickets, assign priorities, and update ticket status.
• Identify and respond to system alerts, troubleshoot, and minimize downtime.
• Communicate outages and events with timely updates to internal teams and executives.
• Analyze logs and behavior to diagnose root causes and implement solutions.
• Escalate issues to higher-level support when needed.
• Coordinate with departments and vendors on outages and maintenance.
• Perform contact center duties in a high-volume environment.
• Other duties as assigned by NOC Management.
