Ritter Communications in Jonesboro, Arkansas, is seeking a NOC Security Engineer to maintain secure IP networking in a service‑provider style environment. You will manage next‑generation Palo Alto firewalls, SIEM systems, and incident response activities while supporting transport and customer connectivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 3+ years in security operations or SOC/NOC.
• Certifications like Security+ or Palo Alto credentials are highly desirable.
• Cisco/Nokia/Northbound transport knowledge is a plus.
• Equivalent education/experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain IP routing (BGP/OSPF) and Ethernet switching for ISP transport and customer connectivity.
• Configure Palo Alto next‑gen firewalls: policy, threat prevention, VPNs, NAT, logging.
• Monitor security events via SIEM and detect anomalies in real time.
• Analyze and triage security incidents with log correlation, traffic analysis, and forensics as needed.
• Lead incident response, containment, eradication, remediation, and service restoration.
• Conduct digital forensics and preserve chain‑of‑custody evidence for root‑cause analysis.
• Proactively hunt threats across network infrastructure to identify compromises.
• Collaborate with ISPs, carriers, and internal teams to resolve complex security issues.
• Tune SIEM rules, EDR, IDS/IPS to reduce false positives and improve detection.
• Document configurations, playbooks, and lessons learned.
