Job summary

Simplesense is seeking a Senior System Specialist in the Denver area to serve as the technical escalation point for the NOC and Support Desk. You will tackle complex, hybrid cloud-edge issues, lead incident response, and mentor a team of System Specialists to ensure mission-critical platforms remain resilient and fully operational.

Work is hybrid with onsite collaboration as needed and quarterly remote travel to hubs.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in a NOC, IT Ops, or Tier 2/3 Systems Support role.
Experience troubleshooting AWS networking, VPCs, and hybrid connectivity.
Observability: alerts, dashboards, and log queries in Splunk and DataDog.
Strong networking with Cisco switches and Linux CLI proficiency.
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD CAC and DoD Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

Advanced Incident Management: act as the technical backstop for the NOC and lead outages.
AWS & Compute Operations: monitor EC2 health, resource constraints, and OS issues.
Hybrid Network Diagnostics: troubleshoot Cisco/AWS hybrid connectivity and trace root causes.
Observability Optimization: build and tune dashboards/alerts across Splunk and DataDog.
Runbook Orchestration: develop, test, and publish operational runbooks.
Technical mentorship: lead and develop System Specialists on the team.
