Job summary

Simplesense is seeking a Senior System Specialist to be the technical escalation point for our NOC and Support Desk, operating across AWS cloud infrastructure and on-prem edge networks. You will handle complex incidents, mentor teammates, and drive observability initiatives to ensure mission-critical platforms stay resilient and secure.

You will work in a hybrid model based in the Denver area with quarterly travel for team syncs, while exceptional remote candidates are considered.

Qualifications

7+ years in a NOC/IT Ops or Tier 2/3 Systems Support role.
Experience with AWS networking topologies (VPCs, SGs, NACLs, Direct Connect/VPN).
Observability dashboards and alerting in Splunk and DataDog.
Cisco switch configurations and routing troubleshooting.
U.S. citizenship and DoD clearance eligibility or possession.

Responsibilities

Advanced Incident Management: act as technical backstop for the NOC and lead during outages.
AWS & Compute Operations: monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and on-premise edge.
Hybrid Network Diagnostics: trace traffic across physical and cloud networks (Cisco/AWS).
Observability Optimization: build/tune dashboards and reduce noise for actionable signals.
Runbook Orchestration: analyze trends, write and publish useful runbooks.
Technical Mentorship: mentor System Specialists and lead the team.
