LincolnIT LLC is seeking a NOC Engineer / Junior Network Engineer to join our Network Operations and Security team in Hicksville, NY. The role focuses on monitoring client networks, handling first-level troubleshooting, and escalating complex issues to senior engineers.

You will work with firewalls, switches, VPNs, wireless networks, and other critical infrastructure in an MSP setting, providing proactive monitoring and incident response both remotely and onsite as required.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years IT support, NOC, network support, or related technical experience.
• Strong foundation in core networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
• Experience with network monitoring and alerting concepts.
• Ability to perform structured troubleshooting and escalate appropriately.
• Ability to work from the Hicksville, NY office and provide onsite client support when required.

Responsabilités

• Monitor client network environments and respond to alerts generated by network monitoring and management platforms
• Provide Level 1 network troubleshooting for connectivity and performance issues
• Investigate alerts involving routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, VPNs, WAN circuits, and other network infrastructure
• Perform initial troubleshooting of network outages, packet loss, latency, interface errors, device availability, and connectivity issues
• Troubleshoot common TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, routing, switching, and VPN issues
• Monitor infrastructure health and identify conditions requiring escalation or additional investigation
• Perform initial triage of network and security alerts as part of the NOC/SOC operation
• Escalate security-related events to appropriate SOC or security engineering resources based on established procedures
• Open, update, document, and manage incidents through the ticketing system
• Coordinate with ISPs, carriers, vendors, and senior engineers when troubleshooting network-related incidents
• Assist senior network engineers with firewall, switching, wireless, and network infrastructure projects
• Assist with firmware upgrades, configuration changes, equipment replacements, and network deployments
• Maintain accurate client network documentation, including device information, configurations, IP addressing, and topology information
• Support client environments remotely and onsite when required
• Participate in after-hours or rotating NOC coverage as required
