Temple University seeks a Department Instrumentation Manager to lead an open-access NMR laboratory housing Bruker spectrometers. The role includes training students in safety and operations, troubleshooting, and performing minor repairs to keep the spectrometers running efficiently.

The position also oversees cryogen maintenance for magnets and contributes to building support systems for other analytical instruments within the Chemistry Department, in collaboration with faculty.

Qualifications

• PhD in organic, inorganic or analytical chemistry is required.
• Extensive experience in NMR spectroscopy is required.
• Experience with training students in safety and operations is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Oversee and manage a three-spectrometer NMR laboratory (two 500 MHz and one 400 MHz Bruker) with sample changer robotics.
• Train students in safety, operation, and routine maintenance; respond to instrument issues and perform minor repairs.
• Maintain cryogen inventory (liquid helium, liquid nitrogen) for magnets and ensure timely replenishment.
• Collaborate with faculty to develop support systems for other analytical instruments and provide user training.
