Temple University’s Chemistry Department seeks an Department Instrumentation Manager to oversee an open-access NMR lab with three Bruker spectrometers. The role includes training students, handling cryogen maintenance, and addressing instrument issues to keep spectrometers operational.

The incumbent will collaborate with faculty to develop support systems for additional analytical instruments (HPLCs, LC-MS, FTIR) and provide advanced training as needed.

Competenze

• PhD in organic, inorganic or analytical chemistry is required with extensive NMR spectroscopy experience.
• Experience managing NMR facilities and open-access Bruker spectrometers.
• Ability to train and supervise students in safety and operations.

Mansioni

• Manage NMR laboratory with Bruker spectrometers (three 500s and one 400 MHz).
• Train students in safety and operations; respond to issues and perform minor repairs.
• Maintain operability of spectrometers and support advanced NMR techniques for education.
• Lead development of support systems for other analytical instruments (HPLCs, LC-MS, FTIR).
• Provide training and supervision for related instruments and minor repairs.
