Job summary

New Millenium Consulting seeks experienced Telecom & Fiber Optic Field Engineers to support installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure across Tri-State locations. You will work hands-on with fiber optics, OTDRs, and testing equipment to ensure high-quality connections for multiple customer sites.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in telecom or fiber optics, strong communication and documentation skills, and a willingness to travel to customer locations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Telecom, Fiber Optics, Network Infrastructure, or Field Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with single-mode and multimode fiber optic systems.
• Familiar with fiber connectors (LC, SC, FC, MPO) and structured cabling.
• Experience operating OTDR testers and Optical Power Meters.
• Knowledge of fiber inspection, cleaning, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Ability to work independently at customer sites.
• Strong communication, documentation, and customer service skills.
• Willingness to travel across assigned customer locations.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber optic and telecommunications infrastructure.
• Perform fiber optic testing, inspection, cleaning, and connectivity verification.
• Work with single-mode/multimode fiber, structured cabling, and network connectivity equipment.
• Conduct testing using OTDR, Optical Power Meters, and other fiber testing instruments.
• Support network equipment installation, replacement, and connectivity checks.
• Coordinate with customer representatives and remote technical support teams.
• Maintain accurate service reports, work-order updates, and job completion documentation.

We are urgently looking for experienced Telecom & Fiber Optic Field Engineers to support network infrastructure installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting across multiple customer locations in the Tri-State area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with T1, DDS, and DS3 circuit testing.
• Familiarity with PuTTY, Microsoft Teams, and remote support applications.
• Experience in structured cabling and network equipment deployment.
