Job summary

Fort Wayne Metals is seeking a Product Development Technician for the Nitinol Sheet & Strip on 2nd shift. You will develop, refine, and execute prototypes to meet internal and customer specifications, plan and test new products, and collaborate across departments to implement innovative solutions.

Qualifications

• Requires college coursework towards technical or engineering curriculum or equivalent demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• 1-2 years’ experience in manufacturing methods/technologies; preferably supports respected department’s needs.

Responsibilities

• Innovate and validate new products and processes while complying with Fort Wayne Metals Quality Systems and accreditations.
• Collaborate with internal departments to deliver innovative solutions to customers’ novel needs.
• Develop and execute product development protocols and reports including testing needs and full functional characterization of products.
• Engage with customers to determine needs, specifications, development options and support sales in quotes during development of new products.
• Document and compile reports to capture development activities for new products/processes.
• Coordinate transfer of new products to production, providing training to Process Engineers, Process Technicians, or Operators as needed.
• Review and provide feedback to Customer Service Associates and Product Managers regarding customer specifications.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
