Job summary

AMOREM seeks a registered nurse to provide skilled, responsive hospice care at night and on weekends across patients’ homes, community nursing centers, and assisted living communities. You will assess needs, manage pain, educate caregivers, and coordinate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to support end-of-life plans.

Ideal candidates work independently, adapt to changing needs, and value thoughtful, individualized care.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted North Carolina Registered Nurse license.
• Two to three years of nursing experience.
• Active patient contact or completion of a nursing refresher course within the past three years.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to patient, family, and team communications.
• Assess patient and family needs and determine the appropriate clinical response.
• Make patient visits as indicated and needed.
• Provide nursing care in accordance with the individualized plan of care.
• Assess and manage pain, symptoms, medications, and changes in condition.
• Educate patients and caregivers about disease process, symptom management, and emergency responses.
• Coordinate care with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
• Evaluate needs across physical, psychological, social, spiritual, financial, and pre-bereavement domains.
• Update the plan of care as the patient’s condition or needs change.
