Job summary

AMOREM is seeking a registered nurse to provide skilled, compassionate end-of-life care to patients and families in their homes, community nursing centers and assisted living communities, with night and weekend shifts. You will assess needs, manage pain and symptoms, educate caregivers, coordinate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, and help families understand expectations and choices.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina Registered Nurse license.
• Two to three years of nursing experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Experience with end-of-life care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to patient, family, and team communications.
• Assess patient and family needs and determine the appropriate clinical response.
• Make patient visits as indicated and needed.
• Provide nursing care in accordance with the individualized plan of care.
• Assess and help manage pain, symptoms, medications, and changes in condition.
• Educate patients and caregivers about the disease process, symptom management, medications, emergency responses, and what to anticipate.
• Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Update the plan of care as the patient’s condition or needs change.
