Job summary

Embark Behavioral Health in Independence, MO is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join a mission-driven, trauma-informed team serving adolescents aged 12–17. You will provide direct patient care under licensed clinicians, help with crisis intervention, de-escalation, and therapeutic engagement to support treatment, recovery, and life-skills development.

Qualifications

• 21+ with HS diploma/GED (degree in human services preferred).
• 0–1+ year in behavioral health, education, coaching, or youth services (preferred).
• Willingness for CPR/First Aid, physical intervention training (provided).
• Ability to stand, move quickly, and support crisis stabilization.
• Must pass background and drug screening per MO law.
• Bonus for prior mental health or youth experience.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate group activities (art, music, recreation) to build coping skills.
• Provide behavioral support, mentoring, and structured routines.
• Use evidence-based, trauma-informed care techniques.
• Document progress and collaborate with clinical teams.
• Respond to escalations using safe intervention protocols.

Hourly Pay Rate: $19.75 to $22 an hour

Schedule Options:

• Wednesday to Saturday -- 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday -- 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM
