Job summary
Shawnee Animal Clinic is seeking an overnight Veterinary Assistant for a 7pm-7am shift to support doctors and the care team. Responsibilities include restraining pets, triaging patients, collecting and analyzing lab samples, performing diagnostic imaging, and managing medical and hospitalized cases with appropriate nursing care.
The role requires the ability to communicate treatment plans to clients and to assist with surgical preparation and anesthesia monitoring as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of veterinary assistant experience preferred.
- Compassionate, calm, team player, strong communicator with multi-tasking abilities.
- Proficient in restraining pets and handling clinical procedures is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Restrain pets as needed and triage incoming patients.
- Collect and analyze lab samples; perform or assist with diagnostics.
- Assist with diagnostic imaging, treatments, and nursing care of hospitalized cases.
- Administer medications and prepare for surgical procedures; communicate treatment plans to clients.
