Job summary

Qualifications

• Must complete and pass EKG class for Monitor Techs within 30 days of start date and pass other required tests.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Preferred background as LPN, Licensed Paramedic or RN with EKG training; LPNs are limited to working as telemetry tech only.

Responsibilities

• Monitor alarms and ensure appropriate and timely responses; verify identification of basic and lethal rhythms and artifact; maintain EKG monitor alarms and respond as needed.
• Continuously observe monitors and respond to alarms promptly and appropriately.
• Perform EKG interpretations including rate, regularity, PRI, QRS, QT, ST segment and rhythm interpretations.
• Ensure strip interpretations are validated by RN.
