Job summary

MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center is seeking a Telephone Service Rep for the overnight shift to serve as the first point of contact for callers, providing general information and transferring calls as needed.

The role requires open weekend availability and 24/7 department operation to cover coverage when needed. A High School Diploma is required, with at least 3 months of switchboard and receptionist experience and strong typing, computer, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• 3 months switchboard and receptionist experience required.
• Excellent customer service, typing and computer skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise on-call schedules and communicate coverage to callers.
• Maintain logs and records per hospital guidelines, including long distance calls.
• Maintain hospital-wide phone directory and confidentiality policies; support emergency paging procedures.
• Provide information to callers and route calls using the Intellidesk system; report issues to proper authority.
• Manage wake-up calls, on-call doctor schedules, and pager coverage as needed.
