Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Indiana is seeking a store leadership professional to plan, direct, and supervise day-to-day operations across departments.

You will mentor team members, drive exceptional customer service, and ensure store standards are met during peak hours. You will staff, hire, and develop talent, manage promotions and performance, and work with store leaders to meet sales targets while maintaining shrink controls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members in the organization in a way that provides clear and precise direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and by addressing root cause issues.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead an organization that practices working safely at all times.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members in all areas of the organization including SDITs, team members in hourly positions and team leaders.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations across departments.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet service and sales goals.
• Implement strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales while ensuring customer needs are met.
• Maintain store appearance with focus on prime shopping hours, product presentation and company standards.
• Staff, select and hire to meet staffing needs and manage promotions decisions.
• Promote succession planning by identifying development needs and providing career paths.
• Ensure compliance with training requirements and safety protocols.
• Spend majority of time in-store engaging with customers and team members to deliver exceptional service.
