Job summary

Advocate Sleep Centers in Illinois seeks a Sleep Technologist for night shifts across our South Region Sleep Labs. The role involves preparing testing equipment, applying monitoring probes, and guiding patients through polysomnography procedures.

You will assist with scoring sleep stages, generating reports, and delivering therapeutic interventions such as CPAP/BiPAP as needed. Prior sleep tech program training is required; no prior experience is necessary.

Qualifications

• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and calibrates equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and signals.
• Selects and applies monitoring electrodes and PAP mask fittings as needed.
• Follows sleep procedures to establish baseline values such as posture, oxygen saturation and respiratory rates.
• Assists with scoring sleep stages and generates accurate reports from recorded data.
• Implements interventions including CPAP/BiPAP and oxygen administration for patient care.
• Assists with SV titrations and other sleep study procedures when applicable.
• Performs data acquisition and ensures data quality with artifact control.
• Sets up video/audio monitoring and maintains equipment condition.
• Educates patients and discusses test process; answers questions for patients and physicians.
