Job summary

Lesaffre North America in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Process Operator to ensure production of quality yeast products. This rotational night shift (6pm-6am) offers on-the-job training and opportunities to work with fermentation equipment and GMP standards.

You will follow procedures, monitor processes, perform basic lab tasks, and cooperate with supervision and other departments to meet production schedules while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or 3 years of experience in a similar position.
• Ability to follow instructions, learn, and ask questions.
• Good people and communication skills.
• Ability to manage time and plan ahead.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates commitment to safety by following all safety protocols.
• Follow established fermentation procedures and adjust processes as needed.
• Notify Supervisor of equipment failures or major fermentation problems.
• Follow the production schedule.
• Follow cleaning (CIP) and syrup/raw materials procedures.
• Read and understand material safety data for chemicals used.
• Record and maintain accurate information for fermentation and related processes.
• Communicate respectfully with employees, customers, and management.
• Train and work in other departments as needed.
