Job summary

Lesaffre, with its Red Star Yeast team, is seeking a Compressed Yeast Operator in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will work across department machines to meet evolving customer needs, training on and operating different equipment as production demands shift.

This is a full-time, Monday-Friday, 2nd shift (2p-10p). You will follow safety protocols, handle sanitation, monitor QA controls, and record data while learning all equipment in the department.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years of similar experience if education isn’t met.
• Ability to follow instructions and learn.
• Ability to accurately report process data and maintain process records.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Team player with good people skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and packaging processes preferred.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates unwavering commitment to safety by following all safety protocols.
• Perform sanitation on equipment, infrastructure, grounds, and other areas.
• Monitor quality assurance controls during production; perform product analyses and checks.
• Record and maintain accurate written and electronic information.
• Understand and follow safety, GMP, food safety rules.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Inspect infrastructure and equipment and notify management when maintenance is needed.
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment and process problems.
• Communicate and interact with employees, customers, and management respectfully.
• Learn and operate all equipment; cover shifts; overtime may be required.
• Other duties as assigned.
