Job summary

DIS-TRAN Steel in Pineville is seeking a Submerged Arc Welder to join our Pole team on the Night Shift. The role requires operating a seam welding machine, reading a tape measure, and performing daily maintenance on CNC machinery. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and be able to read blueprints.

Certification tests and prior experience with moving machinery such as cranes are preferred. On-site training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Must pass Welder I certification test.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• On-site training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Welds using a submerged arc welding machine.
• Operates CNC machinery and performs daily preventative maintenance.
• Loads/unloads shells from the machine using the overhead crane with proper lifting equipment.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and schedules.
• Adjusts welding machine settings based on pole diameter and thickness.
