Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a motivated and experienced production welder to join our team. This full-time role performs MIG welding on structural steel, including frames, rafters, pipes, and assemblies, in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of welding experience or a welding certification, plus the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience welding in a production environment or valid welding certification.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CWB and AWS welding certification in accordance with Cornerstone Building Brands welding procedures.
• Experience with a forklift and/or overhead crane operation a plus.
• Comfort and familiarity with power hand tools.
• Willingness to train, certify, and operate forklift and overhead crane.
• Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• General mathematical knowledge and proficiency with basic measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

• Operate MIG welding equipment to join structural steel components.
• Coordinate welder settings, gun speed/travel and gas flow.
• Read tape measures and blueprints to shop standards.
• Adjust welding as needed to maintain bead quality.
• Train and mentor others on proper welding procedures.
• Operate overhead crane and other lifting equipment.
• Maintain accurate part identification and sequencing.
• Support continuous improvement in the work area.
• Communicate effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
