Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Elizabethton, TN is seeking a MIG welder for production duties in a fast-paced shop. The role requires reading blueprints, measuring parts, and setting weld parameters to meet exact bead shapes and penetrations.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year of welding experience or a welding certification. Forklift/crane familiarity and teamwork are pluses; base pay is $18.25/hour with full-time hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; welding certification preferred.
• 1 year welding experience in production or valid welding certification.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings; basic math skills.
• Willingness to train and operate forklift and overhead crane; safety focused.
• Capable of meeting deadlines and working well in a team.

Responsibilities

• MIG weld on various structural steel components per specs.
• Coordinate welder settings, gun speed, travel, and gas flow.
• Read tape measures and blueprints to shop standards.
• Maintain bead shape, size, and penetration; ensure quality.
• Operate overhead crane and forklift; participate in training as needed.
• Support continuous improvement and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
