Job summary

Veolia's Water Technology team in Michigan seeks a Wastewater Operator to control plant systems and ensure purified water meets permitted discharge standards. Primary night shifts (12 hours) with responsibilities spanning operation, data collection, and process adjustments.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, strong mechanical aptitude, and good communication skills. Preferred: wastewater licensing or certification; you will work with a team and Veolia management to optimize treatment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prefer wastewater licensing or certification.
• Ability to work day and night shifts as needed; 12-hour night shifts are primary.

Responsibilities

• Maintain operational coverage of the wastewater facility across shifts (primarily night).
• Operate and control pumps, motors, and valves; collect and test samples.
• Analyze lab data and adjust treatment to prevent non-compliance; document data.
• Coordinate with Veolia management and purchasing to schedule maintenance and supplies.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly operating reports and assist with minor maintenance.
