Job summary

Wesco oversees warehouse operations including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and related duties. The Supervisor - Operations leads teams, trains staff, and ensures adherence to safety and process standards.

The role reports to a Manager or Senior Manager Operations and may have 2+ direct reports. Responsibilities include coordinating shifts, monitoring performance metrics, and driving continuous improvement in warehouse procedures while maintaining strong employee relations and ensuring

Qualifications

• High School Degree or Equivalent is required.
• Fork Lift Certification preferred.
• 3 years warehouse and distribution operations experience.
• 1 year experience leading warehouse associates.
• Ability to operate a forklift or obtain certification.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control processes.
• Knowledge of electrical, construction or mechanical products.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong time management skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to learn and use business planning systems.
• Resolve problems in a timely manner under stressful situations.
• Comfortable working in a team environment.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools and equipment.
• Ability to anticipate and prepare for customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate employee work assignments to meet inbound and outbound service requirements.
• Direct achievement of performance objectives related to productivity, quality, service, and safety.
• Monitor workflow, errors, and related metrics; take corrective action.
• Ensure procedures are observed, implemented, and enforced.
• Verify quality and inspection processes to eliminate excess costs.
• Maintain safe working environment and safety regulations.
• Record accurate time, attendance, and performance data.
• Maintain positive employee relations and morale.
• Recommend performance management actions.
• Assist in developing and documenting warehouse processes.
• Set and monitor performance standards for warehouse functions (pick, pack, ship).
• Process returned merchandise.
• Develop and monitor equipment and housekeeping standards.
• Develop and implement training certification programs.
