Job summary

Wesco is seeking a Supervisor - Operations to oversee multiple warehouse departments, including receiving, picking, packing and shipping, with direct reports. You will coach associates, ensure safety and quality, and drive process improvements.

You will monitor performance metrics, enforce procedures, and help develop standards for warehouse functions while maintaining strong staff relations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or Equivalent required.
• Fork Lift Certification preferred.
• 3 years warehouse and distribution operations experience.
• 1 year experience leading warehouse associates.
• Ability to operate a forklift or obtain certification.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control processes.
• Knowledge of electrical, construction or mechanical products.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong time management skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to learn and use business planning systems.
• Resolve problems in a timely manner under stress.
• Team-oriented and able to work in a collaborative environment.
• Operate hand and power tools and equipment.
• Anticipate and prepare for customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate employee work assignments to meet inbound and outbound service requirements.
• Direct achievement of performance objectives related to productivity, quality, service, and safety.
• Monitor workflow, complete work, error rates and take corrective action.
• Ensure procedures are observed, implemented, and enforced.
• Confirm quality and inspection processes are accurate and costs controlled.
• Maintain safe working environment and follow safety regulations.
• Maintain time, attendance, and performance records.
• Maintain positive employee relations and morale.
• Recommend performance actions as needed.
• Assist in developing warehouse processes and standards.
• Establish performance standards for pick, pack, ship.
• Process returned merchandise and gear for restock.
• Develop training certification programs for warehouse staff.
