Job summary

Wesco is seeking a Supervisor - Operations to manage one or more warehouse departments including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, wire cutting, light assembly, and housekeeping. You will train and coach associates, report to a Manager or Senior Manager Operations, and may have 2+ direct reports.

You will drive performance, ensure safety, maintain records, and help develop warehouse processes while upholding company policies and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or Equivalent required.
• Fork Lift Certification preferred.
• 3 years warehouse and distribution operations experience, 5 years experience preferred.
• 1 year experience leading warehouse associates.
• Ability to operate a forklift or obtain certification.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control processes.
• Knowledge of electrical, construction or mechanical products.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong time management skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to learn and use business planning systems.
• Resolve problems in a timely manner under stressful situations.
• Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools and equipment.
• Ability to anticipate and prepare for customer needs.
• Warehouse management system experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate employee work assignments to meet inbound and outbound service requirements.
• Direct achievement of performance objectives related to productivity, quality, service, and safety.
• Monitor workflow, error rates, and related metrics; take corrective action.
• Ensure procedures are observed, implemented, and enforced.
• Confirm quality and inspection processes; eliminate excess costs.
• Ensure a safe working environment and follow safety regulations.
• Maintain time, attendance, and performance records.
• Maintain positive employee relations and morale.
• Recommend performance management actions.
• Assist in developing and documenting warehouse processes.
• Establish and monitor performance standards for pick, pack, ship, and other functions.
• Process returned merchandise.
• Develop and implement training certification programs.
