Job summary

University of Minnesota is seeking a Veterinary Technician for overnight coverage Wednesday to Saturday, 9:00pm–7:30am (4 10-hour shifts). Responsibilities include assisting clinicians, preparing patients for procedures, and supporting emergency care and rounds.

Required: MVMA/MAVT-certified technician with at least 1 year of experience; strong interpersonal and restraint skills; proficiency with PCs and software.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Veterinary Technician or equivalent program, certified as MVMA/MAVT technician.
• At least one year of veterinary technical experience; ability to work independently.
• Preferred: strong problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and knowledge of veterinary terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assist clinicians, clients, and patients with procedures and care as directed.
• Perform medical and diagnostic procedures, restraint, and handling of animals.
• Deliver patient care in Emergency and routine service areas and participate in rounds.
