Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced vascular access RN for the Vascular Access Team at St. Luke's Medical Center.

This PRN (zero-assigned) per diem position requires a minimum of 24 hours in each six-week scheduling period, with additional shifts based on department needs and availability. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of vascular access experience, experience with ultrasound-guided IV placement, PICC and midline placement, and serve as a resource to patients and interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in applicable state(s).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Engage in professional governance and quality initiatives to improve care processes.
• Utilize nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care.
• Monitor patient conditions and adjust care plans as needed.
• Promote a culture of safety and optimal patient outcomes.
• May administer medications and therapies according to protocols.
• Maintain accurate EHR documentation and interprofessional communication.
